BOOST Scholarship Program
In spring of 2016, the Maryland legislature expanded educational options for low-income students through the passage of the Broadening Options and Opportunities for Students Today (BOOST) Program. The program provides tuition assistance scholarships to income-eligible students, enabling them to attend the nonpublic school best fit for their educational needs in the 2017-18 school year.
For the FY 2017 state budget allocated $5 million for scholarships statewide for the 2016-17 school year. Nearly 2,500 students were award scholarships last year.
In Spring of 2017, the Maryland legislature reauthorized the BOOST Program. The program is set to provide nearly $6 million in scholarship assistance for the upcoming school year. Online applications will be available in spring of 2017.
