Arizona. The Arizona Corporate School Tuition Organization Tax Credit enables corporations to receive tax credits for contributions to School Tuition Organizations (STOs). Ninety percent of these contributions are used to fund scholarships for students to use at the school of their choice.
Georgia.Created in 2008, the Tuition Tax Credit Scholarship Program provides $50 million in tax credits for individuals and corporations that donate to Student Scholarship Organizations. These organizations provide assistance to families that want to send their child(ren) to private schools.
Florida. The Corporate Tax Credit Scholarship Program, also known as the Step Up for Students Scholarship Program, allows corporations to get tax credits up to 75 percent of their state income tax liability when they contribute to a qualified Scholarship Funding Organization.
Indiana. The Indiana School Scholarship Tax Credit Plan, which was passed by the state legislature in June 2009, allocates $2.5 million to provide a 50 percent state tax credit to individuals and businesses for contributions to qualified scholarship programs that benefit low-income students.
Iowa. The Individual School Tuition Organization Tax Credit allows taxpayers to receive a personal income tax credit of 65 percent for donations to School Tuition Organizations (STOs). These organizations must use 90 percent of the contributions for tuition grants for students to attend the school of their choice.
Pennsylvania. Since the creation of Pennsylvania's Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) in 2001, more than 3,600 companies have pledged in excess of $360 million dollars to scholarship and educational improvement programs in the state.
Rhode Island. Created in 2007, the Rhode Island Scholarship Tax Credit is a program that allows businesses to receive a generous tax credit for making contributions that provide economically disadvantaged children with private school tuition scholarships.
